Let’s face it.

There are hundreds of wedding officiants on the interwebs that you can choose from. Why choose any of us? I believe it comes down to fit and chemistry.

If you are looking for a New York City based officiant who approaches her work with creativity, intention, care, humor, and the desire to nurture honesty, boldness and acts of love, you have found me.

What I'm Like

Marriage is a substantial rite of passage. We know that planning a wedding can be intense. That said, ceremonies can and should be fun, beautiful, and inspiring. They also present an opportunity for me to tell your story, from where you have come, to where you are going and to celebrate you. The ceremony culminates and kicks off hopes, dreams, desires, those expressed and under the surface. The ritual of a wedding allows you to communicate all this to one another, to your community, yourself, and perhaps the Sacred, and to ask for strength to live into your vows.

I also love the magical city in which I was born and raised and know New York City to be a perfect place to have a wedding. I can help you navigate details such as licenses and permits so that you can focus on the importance of your special day.

Details aside, together we will create wonder, magic, joy, and promise. We will laugh and maybe shed a tear. We will engage in a process that is profound and filled with light. This process culminates in a ceremony where you will show deep and abiding love to a world that desperately needs it.

“Sharon is a joy to work with! Caring, sharp, and funny, she creates a very comfortable environment to lead a lovely ceremony…”

What I’ve Done

A life-long New Yorker, I am a writer, minister, doctor of holistic medicine, and international Aikido instructor. Working with couples during my entire professional career, I have worn different hats from creating bespoke luxury wedding jewelry to couples counseling.

With a lifelong commitment to spiritual growth, I have extensively studied Kabbalah, Sufism, Kototama (Shinto), Taoism, Hand Analysis, Light Grids Therapy, and Tian Der. I've practiced Yi Chuan and Aikido for the last 30 plus years.

Serving as a wedding officiant brings together many of my experiences centering around ritual and the celebration of love into one focused point.
